Ashita no Joe is manga series written by Ikki Kajiwara and illustrated by Tetsuya Chiba. The series ran for 20 volumes from 1968-1973. The series has been turned into multiple animated tv shows and live action movies. It is an iconic series that is continually being referenced by modern manga and anime.   

    Ashita no Joe is my favorite manga series of all time. It is a beautiful tragic story with great characters that I never get tired of rereading.
